چکیده

Vortex matter phases and phase transitions are investigated by means of Josephson plasma resonance in underdoped Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ single crystals in a microwave frequency range between 19 and 70 GHz. Accompanied by the vortex lattice melting transition, a jump of the interlayer phase coherence extracted from the field dependence of the plasma frequency was observed. In the solid phase, the interlayer coherence little depends on field at a temperature region well below Tc while it gradually decreases as field increases toward the melting line up to just below Tc. As a result, the magnitude of the jump decreases with increasing temperature and is gradually lost in the vicinity of Tc. This indicates that the vortex lines formed in the vortex solid phase are thermally meandering and the phase transition becomes weak especially just below Tc.

0 Superconducting Plasma Excitation at Microwave Frequencies in Parallel Magnetic Fields in Bi

Josephson plasma resonance has been studied in a wide microwave frequency range between 10 and 52 GHz in a magnetic field parallel to the ab-plane in under-doped Bi 2 Sr 2 CaCu 2 O 8+δ. Above about 30 GHz two resonance modes were observed: one (LT mode) appears at low temperatures and another (HT mode) at higher temperatures, leaving a temperature gap between two regions. These two resonance mo...

Muon-spin rotation measurements of an unusual vortex-glass phase in the layered superconductor Bi2.15Sr1.85CaCu2O8+δ.

Muon-spin rotation measurements, performed on the mixed state of the classic anisotropic superconductor Bi(2.15)Sr(1.85)CaCu(2)O(8+δ), obtain quantities directly related to two- and three-body correlations of vortices in space. A novel phase diagram emerges from such local probe measurements of the bulk, revealing an unusual glassy state at intermediate fields which appears to freeze continuous...

The gap anisotropy in Bi 2 Sr 2 CaCu 2 O 8+δ is revisited in the framework of a d-wave scenario in view of the recent angle-resolved photoemission experiment. Based on a tight-binding fit to the normal state dispersion, a detail analysis on the effects of the inclusion of the next harmonic in the d-wave has been presented. Significant effect has been observed in the superconducting T c. The den...

Dynamics of Transient Disordered Vortex States in Bi 2 Sr 2 Cacu 2 O 8+δ Typeset Using Revt E X 1

The dynamics of transient disordered vortex states in Bi 2 Sr 2 CaCu 2 O 8+δ was magneto-optically traced in three experiments: (i) during continuous injection of transient vortex states while ramping up the external magnetic field, (ii) during annealing of injected transient states while keeping the external field constant, and (iii) during annealing of transient 'supercooled' disordered state...
